SiliconPV Conference

Instructions for Online Speakers

The SilicoNPV 2026 Conference + bifiPV Workshop 2026 will take place in a hybrid format, allowing online participants and the presenters to join the sessions live using a webinar tool called WebinarGeek.

Please take a moment to read the following steps to ensure that your online presentation goes smoothly.

General information:

  • You do not need to download any software or app to use the webinar. The webinar is accessible through your web browser.
  • Please use a headset with microphone for optimal audio quality and make sure your camera is working properly.
  • Please make sure that the room you are sitting in is well lit and that there are no background noises that may interfere with the stream.
  • Please use one of the supported web browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Firefox
  • Please ensure that your internet connection is stable. Preferably use a wired internet connection over Wi-Fi. If you do choose to use Wi-Fi, make sure to place yourself as close to the router as possible. If you are on a VPN network, we recommend that you disconnect from your VPN to get more out of your connection.

Before the conference

  1. You will soon receive an email from WebinarGeek (noreply@webinargeek.com) titled "You have been added as a team member to a webinar."
  2. Once you receive the email, save it so that you can easily access it on the day of your presentation. The links in the email are personalized and will grant you speaker access to the session(s) you will be presenting at. You do not need to click on any links in the email until shortly before your session.
  3. IMPORTANT: The "Join Webinar" button in this email is intended exclusively for the session(s) you will be presenting at. If you plan to attend in the conference either before or after your scheduled session, please use the participant access link provided in the online program, following the guidelines for online attendees.
  4. This email will arrive in your inbox no later than the evening before your session. Please also check your spam folder for this email, as your email client may flag it as spam. If you have not received the email by the evening before your session and cannot find it in your spam folder, please contact us at info(at)siliconpv.com.

On the day of your presentation

Test session
  1. Shortly before each session at the conference, a private test session (dry run) will be held with the other speakers and a conference organizer. During this session, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the tool, check your camera and microphone, and test your presentation slides.
  2. Your test session will begin 20 minutes before your session starts. Ensure that you are fully prepared for the test session, as if it were the actual live session.
  3. The link to the test session can be found in the email for speakers mentioned in the above section, "Before the Conference." You will also receive a calendar invitation from us reminding you of the test session on the day of your presentation (See figure 1).
  4. After finishing the test, fully close the browser tab in which the test session took place.
Enter the session and present
  1. Then, enter the live webinar using the other link in the email sent to speakers (See figure 2).

IMPORTANT (See figure 3): When you enter the live webinar and after setting up your microphone and camera, make sure that click on “Join off stage” and not on “Join stage.”
  2. After joining the live webinar off stage, wait until the on-site session chair introduces you and invites you to present. Then, click "Go on stage." (See figure 4).
  3. When you are ready to share your slides, click on the share screen button (See figure 5). Then, choose the share “Window” option, and select your slides (See figure 6). Make sure the "Also share system audio" option is turned off unless you plan to use slides or videos containing sound (See figure 6).
  4. You may now begin your presentation. Please adhere strictly to the 12-minute time frame for your talk and slides, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. This makes for a total of 15 minutes for the presentation slot.

For keynote speakers: Presentation time slots for keynotes may differ from the regular 15-minute slot. Please check the program for your exact speaking time.
  5. When you have finished presenting your slides, unshare them using the same button you used to share them.
The Q&A section of your presentation
  1. Then, the Q&A portion of the presentation will begin, during which the on-site session chair will take questions from on-site and online participants.
  2. Please remain on stage with your camera on during the Q&A and answer the questions presented to you by the session chair. Have your slides ready in case you need to share them again while answering a question that calls for a slide.
  3. After the three-minute Q&A portion of your presentation ends, the on-site session chair will thank you for your talk and prepare to invite the next speaker to the stage. Click on "Leave stage” button (See figure 7), but remain off-stage until the end of the session, as some sessions conclude with an open discussion with all speakers, so you may need to return to the stage if the session chair calls on you.
  4. After your session ends, exit the webinar by fully closing the webinar browser tab.
  5. You can then rejoin the conference for the next session as a participant using the participant access link provided in the online program, following the guidelines for online attendees.
